One of my all time favorite manga series.
Story is about Recca Hanabishi, a boy who can control fire thanks to the powers of his ancient bloodline meets a girl named Yanagi Sakoshita who has the power of healing thanks to her ancient bloodline. Recca deems Yanagi worthy of protecting, and then a spiritual being approaches them....
The series is very very good. The first 4 volumes aren't that good, but once the Tournament arc kicks off, it becomes a whole new beast.
It also shows of the best art evolution I've seen. I mean compare this

There's also an anime, but it's the worst thing ever.
